Sad thing about this Volks international site is that there's next to no . wigs. to buy. I was hoping to get a "shagy curl blonde" one, just like the one Danny uses on his Saber Daughter, but they don't have it anymore T_T ...

Why do black women want to have straight flowing hair and wear wigs?
Q. I think that black women that keep their national hair do a cute job in styling it. Wigs are so very hot. Weaves take many hours to complete. Why oh why? Note: This is not a put down. Just a simple question looking for some words of wisdom.

A. it doesn't matter what type hair a woman has, she usually wants it the opposite. black people often want to distinguish themselves from other races, just like teenagers like to show how "unique" they are, by being different than the regular population. so blacks can use the wigs and weaves to be unique. supposedly weaves mean you don't have to wash your hair so often. also, it's a social thing to get a weave - you hang out in the beauty store, with friends and relatives; and you have an instant conversation starter with others asking "who does your hair?". weaves can be a status symbol of the blacks, since they can't afford diamonds, can't afford or get an education, nor drive a Lexus, so a weave is their status symbol they can… [cont.]
