What is the best way to remove the residue left on a golf club by stickers?
Q. I just bought a Callaway Hyper X driver and when i took it out of the box it had stickers (price, etc.) on the face, sole and shaft. When I took them off they left a sticky residue and grass is sticking to it. How can I safely get it off without damaging my golf club? Does nail polish remover work? Is it safe to use on the sole where it is stainless steel?

A. WD-40 works great to remove sticky residue from labels. Spray it on a cloth, not the club, and wipe away the residue. It works like magic. Be careful not to get the WD-40 on the grip or clubface or they will become very slippery because WD-40 is a silicone based lubricant. Good Luck

What do you feminists think about August National Golf Club?
Q. August National Golf Club is a higly prestigious private club with a very limited number of members...All of whom are men. In 2003, a feminist organization, with national support from feminists, launched a campaign to pressure the club into allowing female club members and the club refused, despite the enormous amount of financial pressure. Since the majority of feminists in YA seem to think that it is acceptable to provide preference for entrance to clubs to certain individuals based on their sex, what is your opinion of the Augusta incident? Are you consistent in your beliefs and do you believe that their sex-based qualifications are acceptable? Or do you believe that national feminist organizations erred in their efforts? smoofus70:… [cont.]

A. I will tell you the difference- night clubs are for-profit entities- They are private. They are owned by individuals. The Augusta National Golf Club is a non profit, supposedly public benefit association. Organized under the laws of the US - since it is being given a tax benefit from our government it needs to operate under the laws. In essence it is owned by the public.

what golf club length is normal for a five foot tall person?
Q. for someone just starting out in golf, is there a certain length club that should be used? I am right handed and five feet tall.

A. Your height and the distance in inches from your wrist to the floor are used together to determine the length of golf club that is appropriate for you. The starting point for club length can vary up to 3 1/2" ranging from ladies to mens plus 1 1/2". A tall person with long arms can very easily require shorter clubs than an average height person with short arms. About 80% of golfers are Standard length. Your best option is to go to a store like Golf Galaxy or Golfsmith and get fitted.
