A golf cart or golf buggy (officially referred to as a golf car according to ANSI standard z130.1, since "carts" are not self-propelled) is a small vehicle designed originally to carry two golfers and their golf clubs around a golf course with less effort than the traditional method of walking. Golf cars come in a wide range of formats and are more generally used to convey small numbers of passengers short distances at speeds less than 15 mph (24 km/h) per ANSI Standard z130.1 as originally manufactured. They are generally around 4 feet (1.2 m) wide × 8 feet (2.4 m) long × 6 feet (1.8 m) high and weigh 900 pounds (410 kg) to 1,000 pounds (450 kg). Most are powered by 4-stroke engines. The price of a golf car can range anywhere from $3,000 - $15,000 per car, depending on several factors. These factors may include whether or not a fleet of cars is being purchased for a golf course or a country club, for example, and whether or not the cars are new or used. Other factors may include options such as equipment requirements, and how many people the car is meant to transport. With the rise in popularity of golf carts, many golf clubs or country clubs offer storage and energy options to golf cart owners. This has led to the modification of golf carts to suit use at the particular golf course. Typical modification includes windshields, ball cleaners, cooler trays, upgraded motor or speed controller (to increase speed and/or torque), and lift kits. Originally golf cars were electrically powered, but in time gasoline-powered variants started to occur. Electric golf cars were the first mass-produced electric vehicles for private consumer use. This variety is now used in many communities where their lack of pollutants, lack of noise, and safety for pedestrians and other cars (due to slow speeds) are beneficial. When purpose-built for general transportation these are called Neighborhood Electric Vehicles (NEVs), but with various operating limitations such as top speed and heavy regulation on which type of streets these types of cars are permitted to be used. These may resemble the golf cars shown above, although some are now being made with all–weather car–like bodies. From Wikipedia under the

I really want a golf cart but i want to know how much they are and I would like to know which ones you reccomend. I don't know if i want a gas or an electric one so that will help if you have any tips too. Thanks. Asked by ajc - Tue Sep 15 20:19:32 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Hi there.. Golf carts are usually divided into types based on how they are powered, and the cost of purchasing and maintaining them varies by type. Electric golf carts are fine for golfers who will use their carts only on the golf course. Those using their golf carts in more all-terrain environments, at construction sites, or during camping or skeet shooting trips will probably want a gas powered golf cart as it can handle varying terrain and long distances better. The price of golf carts also depends on whether you are buying a new or a used golf cart. A used golf cart can usually be purchased for half the price of a brand new one. This means you could save as much as $2,500 on a used electric golf cart and upwards of $3,500 on a gas… [cont.] Answered by Selphie - Wed Sep 16 03:34:00 2009 Who was the Comedian that use a golf cart to make disasters in an Olympic ceremony? Neill Gladwin Sydney closing ceremony The quad cycle was central to the comic lawnmower man segment that started the telecast with a slapstick chase. It appeared on the arena just as a mock ceremony, complete with officials and a marching band, began. Driven by a rogue groundkeeper (played by Neill Gladwin), it appeared to be an out-of-control lawnmower that ploughed through a stage, speakers, officials and the marching band, careering off through the entrances to the field of play (known as vomitoriums ), and back on to the arena, pursued by an ever-growing crowd. It even threatened to crash into Ric Birch, perched on one of the infamous kangaroos on bicycles from the Atlanta closing ceremony, before being eventually pulled to pieces Answered by mrcoins.australia - Mon Aug 25 11:03:19 2008 How exactly do I remove the speed limiter from an Electric Golf Cart?
Q. I've recieved a couple good answers as to how to make an ordinary electric golf cart go faster. A few people have mentioned removing or disabling the limiter/regulator. Where is it exactly on a golf cart and how specifically do I disable or remove it? Asked by ReMo - Wed Oct 29 09:46:11 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. I think the speed limiter is on a gas golf cart only, i believe the only thing you can do is change out gear ratios or get taller tires if you dont want to upgrade motors or batteries.
